An enduring legacy of conservatism can be achieved outside of Washington DC in the flyover country by successfully organizing and moving constitutional amendments under Article V and by writing such amendments so that no court, no Congress, no President can thwart the meanings and intents of such amendments.
Such amendments may be thwarted until the populace demands otherwise.
As Rush pointed out this past week the Constitution ( or any Amendments passed with Article 5) is merely paper. What makes all this work is **Honor**.
Fundamentally, our entire system of Constitutional rule of law hangs on the **good will** of the citizens to make it work.
No number of laws or amendments, not matter how well crafted will corral evil. Evil will leak through every time.
If conservatives are to save this nation they must shut down government K-12 schools and universities. They can not be reformed.
On the k-12 level vouchers, tax credits, and charters can help build the infrastructure but the goal must be complete separation of school and state.
On the university level Charles Murray has the right idea: Qualifying exams that are developed and administered privately.
Conservative businesses can do its part by using SAT and ACT scores ( along with internships) to identify bright workers. If a job didn't need a degree in 1920, 1955,or 1980 it doesn't need one now.
