Maybe returning to the moon would make more sense than going to Mars.
Just what I was thinking, there is really no purpose for going to Mars other than to say we’ve been there. Plus it’s an insane amount of distance, you’d have to wait until it is in the right position, then pack enough supplies such as food, water for 9 months and that is just one way! Think how much food and water just one person goes through in 9 months. To me it would be a suicide mission unless we found some way to put a person into hibernation.
You have to think outside of the box and expand the horizons.........
Look what the Wright brothers did for aviation. Look what the first moon landing did for technology that allowed us to even get there and ultimately place a rover on Mars........
You can't focus on the moon, Mars is the next crucial step in ultimate planet exploration and space travel
...oh yeah and to add to my other post - Just where the hell will the astronaut get 9 months of air?? We inhale 11,000 liters of air per day or 2,906 gallons. What machine can produce that much recyclable O2?? Think about that: It would have to separate O2 from CO2 at a rate of 458 liters per hour or 121 gallons. If that was possible we wouldn’t need gasoline anymore, just produce hydrogen from water if they can separate molecules so effectively like that.
As for me ever going? I saw "The Martian." I'm good.
