society now’fosters the insane between people. now only’one has to want to screw the other one and govt is there to ream out the other person on behalf of the other one.
Government is like vampires though, you have to invite them in. God doesn’t need you to get a permit, and other than state laws that assume common law marriage after X amount of time (which I’ve actually known a couple people who’ve lived apart for a bit at the magic time, resetting it) you can be married in the eyes of God by a priest and retain your rights should it go wrong. Of course, if you’re sincere and in love, it should last.
