That's a really strange statement.

The University of Michigan and Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh are usually considered the top two schools in America for robotic engineering.

Georgia Tech is very good, but that's at least 250 miles from the Research Triangle.

Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and N.C State are all good engineering schools, but not elite.
