It a Southern joke, and I was talking about those old Southerners; grandchildren, and even sons and daughters of Confederate soldiers from yesteryear.
I was born and raised in SE Arkansas so I am not being unfair to anyone. Fifty years ago is vastly different from now, and I have nothing but love for Southerners where all my birth family still is.
My late wife and I had planned to retire to Eastern Tennessee.
