Cernovich is not saying it will be, he writes that there is a plot afoot.
Petraeus is known to be a tool available to take down Syria for the Saudis.
What bugged many about McMaster is how neocons such as William Kristol reacted with glee at his appointment. Other neocons were just as gleeful. (Neocons = advocates for endless war)
I suspected the intel product was being manipulated or biased by omission.
The idea of committing massive numbers of ground troops into Syria is not far-fetched although I would expect President Trump to refuse to hear of it further unless he is still giving Kushner preferential treatment.
The facts behind an effort to take down al-Assad are crucial to understanding who is motivated to do what:
1. Saudis have wanted a pipeline for their oil for decades through Syria across the border with Turkey and up into Europe.
2. The Russians do not want a Saudi oil pipeline into Europe because such a pipeline competes with their own pipelines that presently feed Europe.
3. The Russians back al-Assad to stand in the way of the Saudis getting their pipeline into Europe. Assad is standing in the way.
4. The Saudis do not have the military muscle to go up against the al-Assad regime.
5. The Saudis look to buy military muscle by hiring ‘lobbyists’ or bribing US politicians such as Hillary Clinton to work towards committing American military might to serve as a private mercenary army for the Saudis.
So it is not far-fetched that Petraeus is in league with the Saudis, and it is not far-fetched to think McMaster is shaping and forming the intel product to influence the President’s decision-making process.
Cernovich has achieved and established cred among those who follow him.
Yes, I understand. Trump can hear this plan, but source claiming 150,000 troops needed in Syria, IF this story is true, won’t be ours, not under Trump.
Your synopsis of the situation seems plausible.
I’m still on the fence about Cernovich, though.
Take Assad out and Turkey will within two years they'll toss the US out of the huge airbase we have there and let the Russians use it along with keeping whatever naval base rights they want in Syria. The Turks, every bit as much as the Saudis and in many ways more, are responsible for this mess in Syria. Any pipeline that ends in Turkey gives Turkey more power over the entire ME and Europe.
The Neocons who think they can control the Turks after placating them with some sort of Caliphate are deluding themselves. As soon as Turkey has the income from a pipeline and control of the flow to Europe they're going to go full bore towards controlling everything the Ottoman Empire once controlled.
First by taking over Iraq directly or with a puppet, then by demanding that the Saudis at least share control of the Muzzie holy sites that they claim they have the right to control.
