Heck, Trump has a hidden back channel to the Clintons, too, if the children are counted. Aren’t Chelsea and Ivanka reputed to be friends? Daughters of the reigning monarchs?
And, isn’t Chelsea a buddy of one of the Bush twins? It must be some kind of sorority.
I seem to recall that at the beginning of the Obama administration, he engaged in some conversations with SCOTUS justices that were photographed. And look what the SCOTUS did on some key cases that eventually came before it, like upholding the constitutionality of Obamacare.
In the case of Trump and Kennedy, though, the conversation seemed to be confined to non-judicial matters. That's good, but the optics are still bad.
I saw it on TV. There is nothing here other than small talk and saying hello after Trump Addressed Congress when he spoke very briefly with Kennedy. Trump shook hands with many others after his address It’s what all presidents do when they address congress and the nation.
Trumps sister MaryAnn Barry was on the federal bench with Sam Alito. She spoke for him at his confirmation hearing. Alito has spent time at the same dinner table as Mr Trump.
Which says our President runs with the big dogs!
Talking about Kennedy retiring how about Ginsburg who looks like death warmed over? I meant that in the nicest way I possibly could considering she’s a left-wing loonie. Kennedy can go to blazes for his opinion on gay marriage making it the law of the land!!
Prayers that Ruth shuffles off this mortal coil in her sleep tonight
I like David Stras, only 42, of the MN Supreme Court, for one of the next two spots. Tom Lee, early 50s, of the UT Supreme Court, for another. Margaret A. Ryan (US Ct. of Military Appeals) is also aces, as is Joan Larsen of the MI Supremes.
The entire "list of 21" is great. I would probably avoid Diane Sykes and Bill Pryor due to their faux "controversial" nature -- it's B.S., but some judges have been unfairly tarred -- which probably would scare off squish GOP Senators like Turdbronski and Collins.
