Groups already have experimented with universal basic income. The outcome is not good.

In Rome, they called it "Bread and Circuses".

In the US, they call it "Food Stamps and TV". Same thing, different package.

The Elites want a permanent dependent class who will reliably vote for the ones promising the most free benefits. It will not end well.

Yep. And until ‘Siri’ can mix and bring me a Dirty Martini, she’s of no use to me.

Now, a Man-bot that looks like, say, a 1972 Paul Newman? Oh, Baby! He’d be welcome in a nanosecond; with or WITHOUT the Dirty Martini! ;)

I had a big argument about this earlier today.

My baseline thesis:
Everyone’s fair share of Earth is 8 acres.
Subsistence farming requires about 1-3 acres.
The effort needed to produce enough to live on is the baseline productivity expected of every able bodied adult. You may contract into mutually beneficial employment to leverage greater productivity and earn more or enjoy better conditions, but if you don’t produce at least that much, you’re unduly lazy.
