Ninety-seven people are at Catholic Charities this morning. It feels like a hospital waiting room.
The sense of anticipation is palpable: Every time a charity worker comes to the front of the room with a clipboard, everyone looks up, waiting for their names to be called. For their questions to be answered.
What happens if ICE is knocking at your door?
What kind of ID should I have?
What about my children if I get deported?
Are there forms we can fill out to sign off guardianship of our children?
In past weeks, as news of ICE raids and deportations has spread, lawyers and charities have been telling immigrants, both documented and undocumented, how to prepare....

Well, you're going to have to answer to them someday... Why did you rip up roots in your home country to illegally sneak into another country, knowing full well that if you were ever caught you might be booted out - along with your illegal children - and be forced to repatriate, even though your children may never have spent a day in Messyco, and may not even speak the language. Your fault. Totally your fault. Why did you do that to them? Bears repeating.

If CNN and others started being honest, IMMIGRANTS who see their fake news could stop being scared.
Scared and planning for the worst: ImmigrantsIllegal Aliens brace for deportation
Immigrants relying on their fake headline may have reason to be scared. Immigrants reading the honest headline would not think "hey, maybe I should be scared too".
At the very least they should make it clean in the first paragraph that there is no reason for immigrants to be scared. And that they should stay away from illegal aliens who are committing additional crimes. The immigrant does not need to fear being deported, but could be inconvenienced (forced to produce papers) if caught up in the illegal activity.
Real news could have a positive affect on many lives by reducing unreasonable fear immigrants have, but instead CNN chooses to sow fear as widely as possible.

Can they? Are the American-born children lawful citizens of the countries the parents are being deported to? That's their problem, not America's.

Catholic Charities, just like CNN, is my enemy and the enemy of my people.
They enable the undermining of our society.

AMEN, stake out schools, jails, prisons, home depot and lowes, and look at build sites, especially roofers, and get the employer too for violating the law.

If ICE is knocking at your door you are an illegal alien who is going to be drop kicked back to your country of origin.

Can they? Are the American-born children lawful citizens of the countries the parents are being deported to? Of course. The US is the only country that offers birthright citizenship. If a Mexican couple had a child in the UK, that child would not be a British citizen. Would that child be without citizenship to any country? Of course not...they would be citizens of the parent's country.
The media always forgets to mention that...
I did see an article recently where it said that lots of illegals in the US are visiting the Mexican consulates to get Mexican passports for their US born children. A very good sign.
