Shaquille O’Neal says the Earth is flat, we’ve been lied to and he doesn’t care if you disagree

Shaq, a college graduate, defended Kyrie, saying: “It’s true. The Earth is flat. Listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this sh*t is flat to me. You mean to tell me that China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat.”

One of Shaq’s podcast co-hosts refuted his assertion by saying, “We’ve seen the Earth from satellite imagery.”

Shaq replied by saying that could be manipulated. To buttress his statement, Shaq pointed to the inaccuracies taught in school, such as the theory that Christopher Columbus had discovered America.

The invention of the telescope and its use at sea gave sailors the chance to see receding land and vessels gradually “sink” from view at they moved away. So they knew. And speaking of Pythagoras, even the ancient Greeks knew the Earth was a sphere. So it’s not as if the idea was created in the same mythical underground lab where they staged the moon landings.

Those youtube videos on the earth being flat are actually a fascinating phenomenon. Some of them are VERY well done, and if you don’t pay attention or are abnormally gullible, they will convince you the earth IS flat.

Do they ever mention the “edge of the world”? Do they claim to have visited it? Do they have photos of it?

“If you drive 1000 miles west, there is no curve.”

I once calculated the curve of the earth for 100 miles. I can’t remember how much it was, but a tower would have to be extremely tall to be visible.

Listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this sh*t is flat to me.

relativism + subjectivism + emotionalism = typical libtard epistemology

Cognitive Dissonance; it is an illness. Often it is not just one “conspiracy theory” those afflicted will believe, but virtually every conspiracy theory. I’ve known people who denied modern medicine, refuse treatment for easily managed diseases, and who have died as a result. Most with the disorder are at the low end of the bell curve, but some can been pretty bright.

I’ve never seen anyone recover from cognitive dissonance. If you can’t take control of their lives (legally), then you must get away from them or they will suck you down.

Sometime in 2015 I started seeing references to flat earth and noticed Obama kept mentioning it, so I looked into it to try to figure out why. I learned enough to know flat earthers don’t accept those photos of earth from space as real. Apparently NASA has admitted they are “composites” which provided an opening for them to be discounted completely. I say “apparently” because that’s what leading flat earthers say. I have no idea what NASA has actually said.

Shaq is using this as an excuse to be able to get a ride on the next space ship.

Shaq better lose some weight if he wants to reach 50.

Tall guys generally don’t live long, but being fat has to put some serious strain on the heart.

They cover all of that and more. I’ve watched quite a few for entertainment as well as reading the comments. They are a hoot!

Seriously, to me they are the cutting edge of using technology to promote a boondogle, just as an experiment to see just how dumb you can make people look. They take a lot of work. Someone is creating them for a reason. And I don’t think getting a lot of hits is it.

Seriously, you need to watch a couple, and check out the comments.

Flat earth people pick "holes" about space travel, moon landings, sun rays, horizons, and such that raises questions. Gullible people can fall for this and some can be highly educated.

When questions are asked about flat earthers, their whole story just falls apart. If you click you will see how patient Molyneux is.

When I completed my undergraduate degree in 2011, I found myself sitting at the library one day cramming for finals. There were four girls at an adjacent table watching movies on the university supplied computers and talking on their cell phones—neither of which is acceptable behavior in a university library. One had her earphones cranked up so loud I could hear both sides of the conversation.

How you do onna final?
I got like a “D”.
That gon be good enough?
All I need is a “D” to pass because “D” mean “degree”.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude , with a 4.00 GPA.
I’m assuming she got her “D” which got her a “degree”.
My printed college degree looks the same as hers.
And that’s why a college degree is proof of NOTHING except that someone spent a lot of money for your ass to sit there.

And yet, I couldn’t get a job until I had my precious, useless degree.

Pictures from Mt Everest show it....if you believe in Everest. I have personally never seen Everest myself so it doesn’t exist.

They even mention stuff about how the dish network, etc. can work without satellites in geosynchronous orbit. It’s amazing that people buy their responses. So much of our technology today depends on the earth being a sphere, and so much of it can prove it’s a sphere, that it is amazing that so many people buy it.

Then how does the rotation of the sun, moon, and stars figure into these people’s concept of the earth?
I mean, do they still think that the earth rotates in space, just that it’s some kind of flat slab spinning around?
Or do they think all these heavenly objects have something pushing them around?

Liberals used to ridicule these beliefs until 9/11, when Muslims were added to the Favored Group Status. Then they had to start accepting oddball beliefs that came out of Islam/Islamic culture. They could no longer ridicule crackpottery for fear it came from a Favored Group.

If the Earth were flat, all climate would be the same. The Arctic would be the same temperature as the Equator.

If he can fit someone should take him on a ride on a SR-71 and he can see the curvature of the Earth himself. Or if you are malevolent take him up the Stratos balloon to 123 K feet. Let him see the curvature of the Earth then push him out without a parachute.
