Actually, her mom is ethnic Indian from Kenya-that’s the Desi bit- and her dad was white American. She’s not black in the slightest.

In fact, her parents probably only met because East Africa expelled its Indians when they gained independence (and became “black” countries). Africans viewed Indians as parasitic merchants who never grew or produced anything, so while relations with Britain remained cordial the Indians (including Freddy Mercury and his parents) were sent packing - and they couldn’t take too much wealth with them.
