Shimer closed for a while due to low enrollment, back in the 80's. It's known as a school for dumb rich kids who can't get make it at other schools. The lack of academic rigor is striking even by today's ridiculously low standards.
And somehow they managed to get themselves affiliated to some degree with the much-more-prestigious Illinois Institute of Technology a few years ago....
