I hang out at The Donald about equally with my time here at Free Republic. Let me tell you, those kids are monsters. I hadn’t seen this article yet, but rest assured I will be using Fake American every chance I get. Ha!

I grew up on FR.
FR helped me hone my conservatism, and taught me that it is more than simply a hatred of leftism (which I still possess).
In a way FR was the conservative parent I never had, which is kinda sad.
However, in the last several months, I’ve become a yuge fan of The Donald. You’re correct: those kids are monsters!
I love them.
The_Donald is very energetic, a lot of young people, a lot of apparently recent converts, and unfortunately a lot of foul language and sexual innuendo. Their top threads routinely go over a thousand replies in a day or two. I check in a few times a day, more if the Chans are up to something again, lol.
Downside is, it’s dominated by very short, often cryptic replies if you’re not up on their own acronyms and lexicon. Not much in depth but it’s more than made up for with enthusiasm. They’re a little too self-absorbed over the behavior of Reddit mods, with constant threads on that topic.
If you like more detail and lengthy replies in the form of discussion, FR is better in that regard. If something exciting and/or controversial is occurring, I often flip back and forth between here and there. Time was, I stayed here. The lagging response time and even going down during major events send me looking, and that’s when I found them.
Me, too, but I love those kids. They’re OUR monsters!
They speak the language of their generation and have the internet skills to compete w/the progs. It’s like having a motorcycle club as your personal security.
