Hindsight is 20/20. Bush had to make some hard decisions, and in the position he was put in I don’t know if any President would come out clean from that flustercuck. We should never have gone into Iraq. We should never have gone into Afghanistan. We should have bombed the hell out of Al’Qaeda and sent in spec-ops searching for Bin Laden. We didn’t need to start two ground wars. At the time it was a good idea and Americans wanted blood. In hindsight not so good.
Nothing to do with hindsight. There were plenty of us who vocally and publicly predicted what would happen and we were 100% right.
It all came down to one point, a fundamental and willful misunderstanding of islam. At the time I thought Bush was just a naïve rube dancing through the flowers singing about bringing ‘democracy’ to the ME. Now I think he is just an evil bastard who knew exactly what he was doing.
All that treasure. All that blood. The limbs, the broken bodies, the broken minds, the suicides. All because our leaders are too ****** lazy to read the koran and study the hadiths. To stupid to do some historical research. Too arrogant in their own internal belief system to challenge themselves.
And McMaster and Mattis are going down the same stupid path.
Those wars distracted the base.
Hindsight is 20/20.
I don’t know about anybody else, but when Bush started preaching tolerance of islam, I knew it couldn’t end well.
