Trump rented office space to business/government organizations. Any organization from Russia, such as an ambassador or UN office would have required a Russian bank connection to accept monthly rent payment.

He rents space in many buildings to many banking entities. Certainly rents to ICBC as he has stated as such. Their national headquarters for America is in a Trump tower.
