During at outing to the range last summer, I was firing Winchester “white box” through my Glock17. At one point, the chamber failed to close and I found a squib round in the barrel. I was fortunate that it didn’t get too far down the barrel as firing a round behind it surely would’ve been a bad situation. I had never experienced that and hope I never do again.

"....the chamber failed to close." No. The chamber can't open or close. They are a defined, fixed space within a barrel that exist only to the same degree that a donut hole exists.

"....and I found a squib round in the barrel." No. You found a bullet in the barrel. "rounds" are normally defined as a complete cartridge consisting of a shellcase, primer, propellant and bullet.

Please learn the correct terminology if you chose to write about ammunition.
