"Speed" is sometimes used to describe the number of gears available at the rear wheel only, ignoring the number of front gears, but I'm not seeing anything indicating that this bike has more than two available gear ratios in total.
Two speeds is just not enough for anything but riding on flat terrain. Even my childhood Raleigh bike had a Sturmey-Archer three speed shifter.
