They can leave when they want but they will leave our land ) California) to us.
I agree. Let them go. Bye bye.
Please leave and don’t ever think about coming back.
I am all for them leaving. As long as before they are allowed to leave they pay off their full share of the US Debt. Then all Federal dollars immediately stop going into Caliwhatever they become. Pass port will be needed for them to enter the United States. No State can make deals, trades, anything, on their own. All US military equipment will be withdrawn from Cali unless the Government of Cali makes deals with the US, but the troops stationed there will be US troops and the r=equipment will be ours. So yeah go ahead and leave. But no coming back

Via con Dios California.
See ya’! The rest of us will be happy to tariff your expensive goods. lol
538 would become 483, so 242 Electoral College votes would be needed to win. Clinton got only 232 Electoral College votes on Election Day, and that was WITH California's 55.

1. I am okay with CA leaving, but they won’t do it. They do have that moral right though. Secession is like divorce; when one side stops keeping their vows, the other side has the right to leave peaceably.
2. I am thrilled that they are legitimizing secession. When we lose power, which will probably happen in 8-12 years, we may need the option of secession for the free states. After arguing that California had that right, they will look like the hypocrites they are if they claim they can use the military to force us to stay.
Only the major cities are blue. The red part would probably secede from the new nation and return to the US. That would leave those cities isolated and broke.
Don’t send those cali-freaks here. We don’t need yet more lunatics.
Not even a remote possibility of this occurring, but nice to think about all the libs migrating from other states to California.
Don’t know how those conservatives in many parts of the state would be accommodated, however.
Yes, but the Communists, criminals, and thugs all live in the cities where crime and Democrats abound. Perhaps those counties should be allowed to separate.
Do not think that California has fully thought out the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.
Would northern California want to leave the USA?
There used to be a time, some 200 and 300 and 400 years ago, all around Europe and other places, when, if people didn’t feel comfortable with their places of living, that they left to seek out new places where they could feel more comfortable. So, why can’t those liberal weenies leave and go seek out places that will more closely match their beliefs and politics? Just leave the land in California, and go south, to places such as Venezuela and Cuba; I’m pretty sure that there are still places in Europe that are accommodating to their beliefs and politics.
If the U.S. is no longer a place they feel comfortable in, then, just get the heck out. You’re no longer welcome to live in a land that is hostile to your beliefs. GET GOING, while the going is good, or you’re going to be feeling a lot more uncomfortable in the next 8+ years.
However, I’m willing to let CalExit happen, for the sake of he rest of the country.
Would it not have been better form to post your screed in it’s entirity, as opposed to requiring a click to your blog?
Free Republic objects to blogpimps.
California is the only reason Clinton won the (irrelevant) national popular vote. If their fifty-five electoral votes are gone, Democrats won't be winning many presidential elections. Take those two Senate seats and illegal aliens with you, California.
This can work out well. CA gets independence, but is very close to the USA, can hire out the US Military for defense and be a seamless trade partner. I think it’s a win all around.
California is welcome to leave the Union, but with some stipulations:
There will be no financial support from the US, ever.
The new wall on the Mexican border will be extended to wall out California, too.
The US will accept no refugees or immigrants from CA.
Illegal immigration from CA will be treated as a serious felony with required jail time for those convicted.
They want out, they should be kept out.
In a generation, CA will have the economy & social stability of El Salvador.
Fine. Let them go.
However, they do not get to dictate terms. We do.
They can have the “blue” counties and cities, but we keep all the “red” counties and “red” areas that are presently within “blue” counties. We also keep northern California — the state of Jefferson. We keep the Navy bases in San Diego and the Marine bases inland, as well as Edwards Air Force base, and any and all other presently existing military bases. We sell the “blue” areas water, but on our terms and at our prices. They can take it or leave it.
We cut off all federal (USA) payments to these “blue” areas. None of our tax dollars will go to anything in the seceded areas.
What about being on the grid?
