Never have understood the fascination with him. Back in college I made the mistake of buying one of his albums for a friend who just raved about him. After hearing part of the album played, I said that is screeching, not singing.

It was Rolling Stone hack Jon Landau who said one of the most ridiculous things in the music press back in 1974, when he claimed he “saw rock & roll’s future, and its name is Bruce Springsteen” . . . kinda short-sighted, eh Landau?

No kidding. My voice instructor uses him and Barbara Streisand as examples of over rated vocalists. And he’s a liberal!
