This is true. The Democrat Party I experienced as a child and supported as a young adult fits your descriptions very closely. Labor Unions were one of the strongest lobby groups back then. This was long before people like Al Sharpton and groups like Planned Parenthood took over control of that party.
Since the Rodney King event in the early 90’s, the dems have become fractured, balkanized and self centered, to the exclusion of understanding any issues other than their own. To paper over the areas of ignorance, today’s Dems will use labels such as ‘Hater, Racist, Sexist, Xenophobe or Bigot’ in hopes of rendering their opponent silent.
Any other Republican would have wilted under the propaganda assault which Donald Trump bulled through. The Democrat Party is the Chutzpah Party - and Donald Trump out-chutzpahed them.
