Why was Ivanka Trump flying on JetBlue?
That is a question on everyone’s mind today, a day after the daughter of President-elect Donald Trump was involved in an incident aboard a flight on the low-cost airline from JFK International Airport in New York City.
A fellow passenger, whom some media sites identified as Dan Goldstein of Brooklyn, N.Y., was accused of harassing her by saying “Your father is ruining the country.” Goldstein and his husband, identified as Hunter College Professor Matthew Lasner, were removed from the flight and offered a later flight.
But Goldstein also reportedly wanted to know why Trump was on a commercial flight and not a private or charter jet.
Fair question.
While Ivanka could have flown on one of her father’s “Trump” planes, it does cost the president-elect thousands of dollars to run them.
Donald Trump has two jet planes: a Boeing 757, often called Trump Force One, and a smaller jet, Cessna Citation X, The New York Times reports.
To run the smaller jet would cost about $3,200 an hour and the Boeing 757 about $8,000 to $12,000 an hour, according to Conklin & de Decker, an aviation reference company.
That’s a lot of money to fly only a family of five: Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner and their three children.
JetBlue said the passenger was removed from a San Francisco-bound flight, as Ivanka planned to travel to Hawaii for the holidays. But a few media reports suggests that the flight was headed to Palm Beach International Airport, 3 miles west of Mar-a-Lago, the president-elect’s Palm Beach mansion where he is spending the Christmas holidays.
A JetBlue flight from New York to West Palm Beach is only about two and one-half hours. To have the president-elect’s daughter traveling on a commercial flight for more than three hours could be a security risk.
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 1.3 percent of JetBlue’s traffic is from PBIA to JFK, which is around 300,000 passengers a year. The airline alone flies about 23 million passengers a year.
Also, one out of every 15 passengers at PBIA are traveling on a JetBlue flight to JFK, which suggests JetBlue is a popular choice for those flying to and from the New York area.
And who doesn’t like flying JetBlue with all its perks? Such as personal TVs, free snacks and drinks, and comfy, spacious seats. The pricing is also less expensive than other airlines, with a round-trip flight from JFK to PBIA starting at about $250.
A spokeswoman for the Trump family would not comment on the incident, but did not deny what took place, according to The Associated Press.

I think cost considerations was major part plus the inconvenience of the flight crew of a private jet. I assume the plane she was on had a first class section and she did not appear to be in that area. Also, the cost of a private jet across country is costly. Finally, the pilot and crew of a private jet would be separated from their family if they waited for her return flight.
Why Not? She is a citizen She and family should be able to fly on any commercial flight she chooses !

When EVERYTHING is added up i am sure his and his “wife” vacations added up to WAY more than that.
Jetting off to all those places to make a teleprompted speech, get his butt kissed then spend the next 4 days on a golf course renting entire floors at 5 star hotels is considered “government business” but to the hussein’s they were hundreds of additional taxpayer funded vacation days.
What I would like to know is how does someone who claims to be a lawyer not know that the 1st Amendment does not apply to a private company?

Someone posted on a previous thread that the whole thing was a propaganda set up, which makes sense. Their purpose is probably just to get the “proper” people yelling and screaming at Trump family, friends and supporters on the news to get “follower” types to join in.

One would hope they are now. One time I saw a nicely dressed lady in first class arguing with a flight attendant. The attendant asked her to store her briefcase under the seat in front of her or she offered to store it for her in the overhead compartment. The lady instantly went into Bitch Mode and told the flight attendant she was an attorney and she was NOT going to stow her briefcase. The flight attendant tried to tell her it was FAA regulations. When she offered to take the case and store it for her, the lady got up, pushed the flight attendant who fell into the armrest in the next row. Holding her ribs, she walked into the flight deck and closed the door. It wasn’t 60 seconds later that two armed policemen came onto the plane, handcuffed the lady, and dragged her off the flight. Lesson: Don’t mess around with flight attendants. Their word is law once you step onto a plane.
Anybody ever stop to think Trump didn’t get his wealth by throwing money away on unneeded things.
From what we know about Ivanka, perhaps Jared is all knowing in the fact she is capable in any situation - even one with two gay men verbally beating her. After all, being limp wrist ed what is the chance of a natural knock out?
IMHO, she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation as to why she flew Jet Blue. That’s her business, and I’m sure if the Secret Service has a problem with it, they will let her know.

The Trump family was on Oprah years ago and Don Jr said they all fly coach because that’s what they expect out of there employees
There are seats with more leg room on select flights but I don’t think that JetBlue planes generally do have a first or business class section.
Are you telling me she is not allowed the right to get in a commercial airline like any other CITIZEN?
