The California Secession champions really haven't thought this out.
Even if the Feds were to let California secede (which they won't) - the 49 United States of America would not allow the Pacific Coast to be given up. Similar to Russia not allowing Crimea to go to the Ukraine. So the United States will keep at least San Diego (and the connecting territories to Arizona), and possibly Northward to Long Beach.
Then you have the fact that Eastern California is mostly Red. They'll stay with the United States. And as a parting boot, they may choose to cut off the water to the Coast (or charge a lot more for it).
This fantasy would have a very short shelf life. The Country of California - consisting of the Coast line from Northern LA to Marin County would not be very self-sufficient.
