What about Trump’s right to “due process and equal protection,” seeing as how he (unlike Stein) really has something to gain or lose?

The US constitution expressly gives the states total control of their individual voting process and laws regarding same. This was the basis for the US Supreme Court ruling in Gore v. Bush. Gore was shopping for judges, then the Florida Supreme Court, but the state legislature had lawfully adopted rules and those rules were followed.
