This leaves the joke door wide open. The arrogance that a state government or any government would think it can control animal farts!

And they don't intend to do anything about
pig farts?!?
This is obviously a case of blatant species discrimination, and should not be tolerated! Pig farts probably do as much grave damage to the ozone layer, and the general atmosphere, and nasal detection, as cow farts. Why should the pigsters be above Governor Moonbeam's gas-passing law? (In fact, why should governors like moonbeam be above that law? It is fairly certain that he violates that law quite regularly, with all those veggie burgers he eats regularly.)

>Cattle and other farm animals produce methane, a gas that is referred to as a greenhouse gas and alleged to be more potent than carbon dioxide as a heat-trapping gas.<
.
Methane is the gas of the future and we got yuuuuuge deposits of it in the ground and on the sea bottom in the form of methane hydrates. It is clean burning and can be used in power plants, home heating and transportation fuel. We convert it into LNG and the world will be knocking on our Pacific and Atlantic doors begging us for an unlimited supply. It will truly MAGA until we’re sick of our $ucce$$.

and so it begins- now food is going to be too expensive for low income people to afford- so guess what? They are going to have to resort to eating beans- Yes, that’s right= cheap as dirt beans- which of course cause people to fart- then California is going to step up and start charging people for farting- so they won’t be able to even afford beans now- and they will die- releasing carbon into the ground- causing higher CO2 in atmosphere eventaully- so these people’s children will be charged for their late parent’s carbon creation-
Will the madness never end?
But seriously- this will become a federal tax as soon as a democrat takes office again-
Farmers in Cali could, if they had any guts- refuse to pay- What is brown goign to do? Throw them all in prison?

Maybe the solution will be to give the extra-extra-extra-large version of these pills to all your cows, to help regulate the quantity and volume of expelled gas by the stinky beasts.

I heard there were 2,000 dairies in that great state, now reduced to 1500. Soon half will move and half will stop dairy farming. Prices will rise on milk products in Ca. The middle class will continue moving out of state leaving the rich and poor.

The arrogance that a state government or any government would think it can control animal farts! It's just as I suspected - they can't control it, obviously, but they can make money off of it by fleecing the farmers.

California doesn’t need food. This is liberalism at it’s finest.

One of the reasons that dairies have been popping up all the Texas Panhandle for several years. From what I am told, they are all from California.

In the dairy business, the margins are so slim that something like this will force us out of the state." I'm sure there are farmers in Wisconsin who will gladly take up the production. California will lose their dairy farmers and milk will double in price (at least) due to added transportation costs.

The legislation will read, “No cow will be allowed to fart more than 30 cubic feet at STP during any twelve hour sliding window”. Enforcement will be done using graduated plastic bags stuck up their butts.
