A runaway Convention is certainly possible, but what’s not reasonably possible is “runaway ratifications”.
Republicans hold 34-35 legislatures...both houses.
The Progressive agenda holds no chance that 13 of them would not oppose anything they come up with.
Any fear that Progressives would have a nit of influence over what is proposed (2/3 of states) or what is ratified is simple ignorance.
Yeah ... the Republicans ... the same worthless bunch that tries to preserve FDR’s legacy even while they occasionally try to slow its growth.
A horse that occasionally walks in the right direction, that is known to stumble, is a better critter than one that only runs the wrong way but it still isn’t a horse I’m willing to bet the farm on.
Frankly, that there is basically nothing left of the old far left that’s considered “extreme” anymore is not only a function of the fact that the DNC is a hive of lunacy. The Republicans have the same progressive disease too, even though less virulent.
Just their lamentable habit of going along to get along should bar them from that level of trust.
The Republicans are good for trying to suck less and that’s about it.
This.
