I suspect she invented her own reality, validated by those who told her exactly what she wanted to hear (or else be replaced): lies.
Her worthless designers obviously loved the dreadful look. “Dreadful” means no effort, no thought, no skill, no knowledge... just a cashing of checks.
Of course the designers don’t care about how she looked. She would look like she dressed by picking up random items from the floor of her closet in the dark ... but who even has that stuff on the floor of their closet?
