Donald Trump supporter Sarah Palin has come out swinging at Ted Cruz — accusing the Texas senator's campaign manager of "dirty tricks" for suggesting the billionaire developer bought her endorsement and calling the alleged chicanery "heartbreaking."

In a volcanic message under the headline "Dirty Politics: Witnessing Firsthand It's Always Heartbreaking, Never Surprising," the former Alaska governor and vice-presidential running mate of John McCain in 2008, Palin writes on her Facebook page:

"Thank heavens Donald Trump opened so many eyes to the lies, corruption and total lack of accountability that come so naturally to the permanent political class. And Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted that 'millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth.' "Which is why it's so curious — and saddens us — this lack of accountability with the lies of Cruz's own campaign."

Palin is on the warpath over suggestions that Trump, a billionaire, "bought" her endorsement. On Monday, Cruz's campaign manager Rep. Steve King suggested that when he told NBC News:"[Trump] has a massive amount of assets and resources that he can deploy when it comes time to convince someone. And that has to affect the way people think. Not only the plus-ups of the promotion, the limelight, all the resources that are there." Palin charged King with "lying."

"King, who's previously asked for and received my endorsement, time and resources to support his own election, is still lying about my altruistic support of Mr. Trump, and he's refused to provide any evidence to the contrary," Palin wrote on Facebook.

"And, this U.S. Congressman (Steve King) actually lied to his own constituents on behalf of Cruz, regarding a good man, Dr. [Ben] Carson. "He told voters Carson was dropping out of the Presidential race immediately before the Iowa caucus, causing a relative uproar inside the process, so the word would spread and he could rack up more votes for his candidate, Cruz. That's a dirty trick. Dr. Carson deserved better. The voters deserved better!"

Palin said Steve King was guilty of "very sad; typical Washington tactics."

"THIS is why 'the status quo has got to go' … We've had eight years of a reckless President, accountable to no one, pushing this country to the brink. Why would we ever take a risk repeating that?

>>Trump is way more conservative than even Cruz, the Bushie RINO Goldman Sachs fake constitutionalist who knew he couldn’t be president.

His dishonesty to Texans by not disclosing his Canadian citizenship was the tip-off. Once they (Breitbart) dug into that issue- we find he’s born in Canada to Canadian parents - an ex-pat Cuban father & ex-pat American mother. ..once...twice...three times a natural born Canadian.

Then he began a long series of attempts to HIjack state caucuses and steal delegates from state primary elections where he came in 2nd, 3rd, and even 5th place.

No thanks, not trustworthy.

I can’t argue with that. He did those things.

I’m not sure about Breitbart’s investigation, because I did not read about that, but his behavior in the primary was despicable.

However, I have said that if Trump decides to bury the hatchet, then that’s what he does, and I won’t criticize it.

But personally, Cruz is not someone who I would consider voting for.

Yes, there were some inconsistencies with the Iowa results that were suspect.

But Maine’s results were a complete fraud. There is no way that Cruz fairly won this liberal state. Of all the candidates, he would be the least likely choice for Maine to have chosen.
