It's pathetic to see Bolton creating his own revisionist history for himself.

Neo-Con NYT Letter to the Editor - 9/22/98

Also see my Post #5 in the thread below. You'll notice that the link I posted there no longer works. The PNAC neo-con sh!tbags have been working hard to whitewash their well-documented track record on issues like this.

Although I doubt he could get approved based on the UN Senate vote.

I agree with you .. the only doubt so far is Prebis. I just have a lot of concerns about him. Maybe he’ll turn out okay.

Anyway, I’m not going to worry about it .. It’s trump’s problem, and he will have to answer for any issues .. or he’ll have to say, “You’re Fired” .. a few times before it all gets settled.

I do like Bolton - because he knows where all the bodies are buried at State. He basically knows the job .. and I suspect Trump trust’s his judgment.

Gotta agree with you. If one wants a mindless waste of American treasure and service members in the Middle East, then John is THE MAN!

Bolton exposed himself as a neo-con hack in the late 1990s when he began to clamor publicly for the Clinton administration to launch a military campaign against Serbia on behalf of the radical Islamic separatists in Kosovo.

That is the opposite of my understanding. Here is Bolton in 1999:

It is a big mistake for us to grant any validity to international law even when it may seem in our short-term interest to do so -- because, over the long term, the goal of those who think that international law really means anything are those who want to constrict the United States. We ought to be concerned about this so-called right of humanitarian intervention -- a right of intervention that is just a gleam in one beholder's eye but looks like flat-out aggression to somebody else. What we did was bomb innocent civilian Serbs into the ground in order that the Albanians can come back and ethnically cleanse the Serbs' relatives out of what's left of Kosovo.

It's pathetic to see Bolton creating his own revisionist history for himself.

Our Bolton quote is from 1999.

You cite Bolton's supposed signature, along with thirty others including Jeane Kirkpatrick, to a letter said to have been published on September 20, 1998 in the NYT that was posted by someone to the website of the UN High Commission for Refugees. I cannot find a record of that letter. Perhaps you should confirm that it was in fact published in the NYT.

You are alleging that Bolton's position flipped 180 degrees between late 1998 and 1999. That's unlikely. It is a suspiciously short revisionist history, as you put it!

Also, your NewAmericanCentury.org account may have been suspended for legitimate reasons, such as an inability to confirm the accuracy of the posted material.

Thus far, you have not provided any verifiable information to indicate that Bolton has ever been a "neo-con", not to say it would be a bad thing if he had been in the company of liberals who had seen the light. I would be very interested in reading any material that you may be able to present to support your allegation. Until then, I'm from Missouri.

1. I can assure you that the letter I cite from 1998 is real.

2. It's not my NewAmericanCentury.org account that is suspended. The website itself has been shut down -- presumably for legitimate reasons. The organization was so badly exposed as a bunch of globalist frauds that the leadership closed it down and reconstituted another one under a new name. The source I cited there was a PDF of the actual letter in the New York Times. Keep in mind that my prior FreeRepublic post was linked to a second letter published in the NYT on this subject over the course of less than six months.

3. Yes, I am making the claim that Bolton's public position flipped 180 degrees in less than a year. He and his PNAC partners were calling for economic sanctions against Serbia in late 1998, and for military action in early 1999. When the whole thing ended up as a complete disaster they pretended that it just wasn't done right. This is very common in Washington when you get these shills working as lobbyists for someone else. See the U.S. invasion of Iraq -- another pet project of John Bolton and the PNAC -- as a perfect case in point.

You may not agree with me, but I'm not the type who makes things up even when I post anonymously on the web. I certainly wouldn't go through the trouble of posting links to non-existent sources. The sources existed at the time the links were posted, and the links are no longer active for reasons completely outside my control. I think it's pretty obvious why the PNAC links don't work any more.

You can do a search on terms such as "Bolton," "New York Times" and "Project for the New American Century" and find references to these items all over the place (see below). I don't have a paid subscription to the NYT, or else they might even still have it in their own archives.

History Commons

Pardon my language, but I don't trust any of these f#%&ers.

I am sorry for my delayed response.

Thank you for your detailed reply. It was illuminating.

It appears that we need not be concerned with Mr. Bolton.
