States don’t count their absentee ballots unless the number of outstanding absentee ballots is larger than the state margin of difference.

I rather doubt that is true. The state margin may be large, but down-ballot races may be tight. All legitimate ballots are counted.

You are correct and this article is COMPLETELY WRONG.

Every absentee ballot is counted. Down ballot races — down ballot referendums — down ballot everything are right there and so every absentee is counted. In Every State.

There is no path of evasion for this article writer. He didn’t make any phone calls to election precincts. Nor to Secys of State. He just pounded out incorrect text.

Every Absentee Ballot Is Counted In Every State. Put this myth about “if the race is not close, the ballots aren’t counted” to bed. It’s a myth.
