I already have something for bear--6 rounds of 44mag.
Which is better? 220gr at 1200fps (x13)? Or 240gr at 1350 (x6)?
Whichever one you can shoot better, fast.

The story of a guy who used a 10mm
I love my Model 29 S&W.
Is a 12 gauge shotgun with 3" slugs an acceptable choice? :)
If this is a pop quiz I'm going old school - a model 29 with serious hard cast maxi-loads launching preferably out of a six inch barrel... yeah, like that one right there.
Since you ax the question, though, I hear that some up in bear country are making the change to the 10mm. I've even heard of one guy who theorized, and then proved, that 9mm is adequate for bear defense with certain loads. Sounds nuts to me but what do I know, I don't live in bear country, I just read about it. :)
Or a 315 WFN hard cast at 1280fps well shoot through even large bears.
