Much to my shock, my dad who is very conservative, recently told me he thought it was OK to jail and ruin a baker if he/she did not bake a cake for a same sex wedding. How did that happen?
He did not seem to understand the concept of freedom of religion, one of the main tenants of our constitution and society. He used to be a printer - he is now retired. He said he would print wedding invitations to a same sex wedding because if he didn't, another printer would, so why not him. He seems to have reduced it to an economic equation. I am still shocked at his lack of basic understanding. As you can imagine, we had to drop the discussion and move on.
He never would have said that even 4 years ago. If someone wants to make a cake, have at it, but to force someone is unconscionable.
That is all these people want - power to force their agenda down our throats with no dissent allowed.
With or without corruption. Either one works for them.
Is your dad elderly? It’s sad how the executive functioning changes. My mom actually has Alzheimer’s and she usually remembers she doesn’t like Hillary but not always. She would be devastated to see how she is politicaly now, she was so political and smart. Now she sways to whatever she hears.
