My guess is that Trump will get something like 40% of the Jewish vote nationally, when that difficult-to-determine number is measured with objectivity and impartiality. (Unfortunately in the past, Jewish voting for the 'Rats has often been somewhat overestimated by 'Rat leaning pollsters.) This will be about the highest percentage of Jewish votes for a Republican presidential candidate in close to a century.
I don't quite get the roulette analogy.
Back in daBronx, registering as a Dem was as sacrosanct as Bar Mitzvahs and circumcisions. These were they days when the Dems actually stood for something, “we have nothing to fear but fear itself”, “the buck stops here”, “Ask not what your country can do for you”. My parents were Dems, but switched parties around the same time Pres. Reagan did, and for the same reason, they didn’t leave the party the party left them. Years later, when I was a member of the Young Republicans in Rockland Cty, the Rep committee chairman, also Jewish put it perspective when he told me Jews have a self destructive tendency to embrace those who screw us and screw those who embrace us. Wasserman’s-Schultz’ justification for supporting the Iran nuke deal with a “Jewish heart” is a classic example. Where, oh where in the Torah does it say we are obligated to enable our enemies?
I have heard stories that a handful of Jews escaped the camps and went back to warn others and they were not believed.
I shake my head at the naivete and stupidity and I’m ashamed for them! In my opinion, any Jew who votes for Hillary knowing she’s antisemitic and supported Arafat and loathes Israel is “not” a Jew and will one day face God with their treason against their own kind and Israel!!
How many Catholics voted for Zero knowing his support of late-term abortions and infanticide and then invited him to speak at Notre Dame? I haven’t read threads or seen comments about how many Catholics forsake their faith or beliefs when they voted for Zero!!
There are three main reasons:
1) So many Jews vote Democrat because so many are ....liberal. Yeah, it’s shockingly that simple. If one supports abortion, the LGBTQXYZ agenda, open borders, multiculturalism, income redistribution in the form of a massive welfare state, strict gun control (and in many cases gun confiscation), etc....then to which party is one going to align oneself?
2) Lib Jews falsely equate nationalism to Nazism, and therefore are reflexively repelled by it. And since Republicans are perceived as having far more nationalistic sentiments than Dems, the resulting equation for them becomes .....the GOP = The Third Reich. That’s a very tough emotional hurdle for them to overcome.
3) Most lib Jews don’t give a rat’s patootie about Israel, although they’ll often (out of guilt) give lip service supporting Her. And these days (after years of conservative Bibi being the PM) a disconcerting number of lib Jews have grown to DESPISE Israel. My dumbazz aunt is one of them.
I’d love to see Trump get 40% of the Jewish vote (like Reagan did in 1980), but I’m afraid it’ll be closer to 20%.
40% voting Republican is a good number for my tribe, believe it or not. In 1972, Jews voted 35% or so for Nixon, which is one of the highest percentages of Jews voting Republican since the Roosevelt days.
