When one gives a taped deposition or testimony at a jury trial, one of the first things they tell you to do is not to touch your face. It creates bad optics, can be confused with something disgusting, and generally just looks bad. They instruct you not to do it even if you have the misfortune of sitting at a defendant’s table.
