His parents story is their story not his.
His current views of amnesty or not is what matters more so today then some emotional comments about his parents escape to USA.
Most legal immigrants have similar stories, escaping some thing horrible in their previous country with minimal money and belongings - nothing new there.
Did his parents truly assimilate? Teach Alex about it?
Or does Alex want amnesty and/or more foreigners pouring in?
