What moron would confuse that with a shoe. Her shoe is still on her foot when it falls out.
She did drop a shoe. No confusion there but some, including me, missed the device drop until someone else pointed it out.
Why would anyone be so fixated on what dropped on the ground. It didn't explode. Nobody lunged to pick it up. A holographic image of Princess Leia didn't appear. No historic archive of humanity's demise from the far future started playing.
I don't think this is the clue we are looking for. Somebody dropped something. It happens.
