My 375 H&H Mag is king. But, 308 with plenty of 20 rd mags and never a misfire is a pit bull if things get nasty.

I have many a 8 rd clip loaded with M2 AP for when it gets nasty.

Can you still get M14s on the open market?

M2 AP, yes, i have that too because I have an M1 Garand like you seem to have, with the 8-round clips.
