Other things they would do "to protect our children," if they really, truly gave the most infinitesimal measure of a damn: teach them not to run away from (or, worse yet, physically assault) law enforcement; hammer into them that focusing obsessively upon their own skin color, 24/7, is a certain ticket to personal and financial hardship; and forcibly steer them away from every last element of "gangsta"/hip-hop culture.
