As a veteran of Special Forces (and a keen observer of military affairs) I decided with my unique perspective to wade through the 800-plus pages of the Select Committee Report on the Benghazi debacle, which as we all know cost 5 Americans their lives. It is, as you can imagine, a rather daunting task; and far too much material to cover in a single post. So, instead, I will comment on those glaring errors in judgement, actions, and questions remaining as strike me (from a military standpoint) while reading the Report; here in bite-sized parts.
It should be keep in mind that the initial attack on September 11, 2012 upon the Ambassadors residence at the American Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi (not designated as an official Consulate) began (approx) at 9:42 local time. It would continue as an off-and-on engagement for the next 13 hours. The fighting would start at the Diplomatic Mission compound where the Ambassador and six other Americans were present; and continue through the dark streets of Benghazi; and, finally, into the early morning hours at the CIA Annex, which came under siege.
GLARING FAILURE 1: Why did the Marine F.A.S.T. platoon not deploy in time to effect outcome of battle of Benghazi?

Some one set them up the Al-Qaeda bomb!
Hillary was in on it and it was planned weeks or months ahead of time.
I should say “compete against he petrodollar”.
Have you heard about that, Travis?
I'd say it's about time to call a Broken Arrow.
Benghazi ping....thank you Lucy T.
Let Republicanprofessor know if you want on or off this ping list.
Bingo
Well, either that, or a huge load of chicken chittery.
Ollie said in testimony that the weapons didn't work.
I had heard the mullahs were overcharged for the price of the weaponry. LOL
On the whole, I don't and didn't see what was "wrong" with arming the Contras. The Boland BS was just a mechanism to thwart the executive from conducting foreign policy.
Well yeah...the shoe is now on the other foot (the left one)
On the whole, I don't and didn't see what was "wrong" with arming the Contras.
What was wrong was; the RATs were backing their brothers, the murdering communists.
The Rats WERE/ARE the Commies.
While that is, and was basically true then, I was referring to Daniel Ortega and the Sandinistas...of Knee-ka-rawa.
Bttt!
Yeah, I’m pretty convinced the they were after Ham. But, I never knew that Ham was supposedly told the rescue had already taken place; and why wouldn’t he have checked on that ..?? Curious.
When Ham resigned, I knew it was over - not only Benghazi - but Ham’s comment about storming the WH.
Thanks for links.
In a sane world we would prefer to inhabit, as General Lyons says, // You cannot flaunt the truth here, just walk away from it and, basically, tell the American public to stuff it. Thats not acceptable. //
Your “Pat Caddell called it” post nails it: these subhumans have no honor; we see clearly here AGAIN that TODAY the media is complicit to the bitter end. And it is a bitter end.
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters Fox clip w equally indignant Brian Kilmeade on May 8, 2013, over THREE (3) YEARS AGO:
What are he, the whistleblowers, and others saying today? Want to look him up. And what is the media’s response —AGAIN—?
I have been searching for something about that and can't find anything at all. Do you have a link?
Unfortunately when 0bama/Hillary and their ilk tell the American people to stuff it half of the people don’t think they’re the ones getting the shaft. I’ve got news for them.
The other evening, Hannity played a video of his interview of the 3 guys who made it out of Benghazi.
One of them, Tonto I think, made the comment that Ham had been told that Tonto’s group had been rescued already.
If that is true, and I have no reason to doubt what Tonto said, this may be the very reason Ham was caught saying he was about ready to march on the WH. It still seems like a set-up to get Ham to resign.
Thanks, I’ll look up that interview. That alone is one of the most damning pieces of information to come out so I want to be able to source it.
