Both arms don’t give out at the same time either. Even under surprising pain or injury (Like a bone break) one arm will come down slower than the other. The barbells, once off keel, will tumble to the floor, and the bench behind your head will deflect some of the weight. It’s going to hurt, and it’s going to suck but I don’t buy this for a second.
I used to think that these crime scenes were designed, setup and ultimately crafted to hide the true cause of death - but I think that in certain cases police show up to see a bullet wound in someone and declare it a heart attack.

First let me say that I agree, it was probably murder. However, as a nineteen year old kid I almost had a serious accident while benching. I overestimated my muscle capacity and feared for my life As the bench bar came slowly toward my throat. Out of the blue a guy appeared and spotted me- I hadn’t known he was there at all.
What can I say? Stupid mistake for a kid to make, benching heavy weight alone. But theoretically I am quite certain you can die accidentally in this fashion because it could’ve happened to me.
