Management was presented with an opinion that disagreed with theirs and the response was to fire people. The the beauty of management. You can get rid of insubordinate people. It is their company, their rules. Real life. Interns aren't even employees, they are guests. Belly up to the bar.

Better they learn now that high school and college tactics for getting their own way don't work in the work place.
