On Thursday, when talking about the terrorist atrocity in Orlando in that city, President Obama acknowledged that Omar Mateen’s spree and the San Bernardino murders in December stemmed from the same root. But that root isn’t ISIS or jihad. The root is “derangement.”
These were “carried out, it appears, not by external plotters, not by vast networks or sophisticated cells but deranged individuals warped by the hateful propaganda that they’d seen over the internet.”
The president could have placed Sunday’s attack in a different context — the context not only of San Bernardino but of the slaughter at the Bataclan club in Paris in November, and the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, and the Fort Hood spree in 2009.
These are all the true precursors of Omar Mateen’s evil morning of slaughter — terrorist attacks in service of jihad, inspired by inciters and designers of jihadist violence.
But the president had a different villain in mind. His villain, the true object of his anger, was the political stalemate over guns. That is why he more precisely likened the Orlando atrocity to the killings at the elementary school in Newtown, Conn., and at the movie theater in Aurora, Colo....

France has some of the strictest gun control laws in the world. Last November, Islamic terrorists killed 130 people, and wounded almost 400 others in the attack on Paris. The French government, however, didn’t react to the massacre by trying to fool their people into thinking they had a gun problem. Instead, they identified the problem for what it was - radical Islamic terrorism.
Of course. They are going to completely ignore all the other inconvenient aspects of this terrible act and focus on what "works" for them. Forget islam, ISIS, his democratic registration, that he was a vetted security guard, yet another shooting in an allegedly "gun free" zone, or a potentially botched LE response (how many of the 49 dead bled out and died during the 3 hrs they "negotiated"???) etc. etc.
Nope, let's make it all about anti-gay "hate" and the firearms he used - even though to this day many still mis-identify the rifle. So-called "liberals" and the left have gone so far over the edge they've just about become a caricature of themselves.
Obama can’t mention Islamic terrorism, but he can use Islamic terror attacks to push his anti-American gun control agenda.
Mr. Obama has failed? He has succeeded with importing as many Islamic terrorists as time has allowed him. He is still at it...importing them from Syria. We are the stupid failures.

I was naive last sunday when this happened. My brother asked me if I was ready to go buy an AR. With all of the facts pointing directly to Islamic Terrorism almost immediately, I thought they’d never be able to spin this away as easily as they have.
