Mr. Allen repudiated his original statement within hours of returning to his “community”. The prosecution then interviewed him again at a later date. That 2nd interview is what was not disclosed to the defense. They almost got away with it. Allen’s attorney struggled with the conflict between his duty to protect his client’s privacy and his duty to the justice system as a whole, and finally came down on the side of the latter duty just a couple of days ago. Had he not done so, the defense would have never known about the later meeting.
