I will use this “Craigslist” you speak of. For I am a Nigerian princess and will send you 10,000 dollars. Unfortunately I am stuck in Yemen and can’t get to my bank. But if you send me 1,000 dollars now for bus fare I can get home and will send you the money.
In Omaha, the police recommend completing the transaction at their various locations.
Good evening, officer. Yes, I'm just here to complete my purchase of, um, flour. And oregano.
The don’t really delete.
I just went into an old address I used on craigslist and looked at my listing of expired and deleted sites. I hit repost and it popped right back up just like when I originally posted it 4 years ago.
Craigslist keeps everything.
Think the IRS might be interested?
Facebook and Google are thought to be paid by different governments, certainly ours, to collect info on citizens. Neither have the business model to make the money that they do, so government funding is likely.
CL appears to be an under the radar company that does the same. They certainly have the income, and the business model is not lucrative for their reach and data collection.
And face it, Leftists are now totalitarian fascists.
So use CL to your hearts content, but be aware that TANSTAAFL (there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch)
Hmmm, bought my pedigree black lab off CL. No papers but she’s a beauty and exhibits classic lab traits. Then when she had pups I sold them via CL. Which is good since it will just about pay for the repairs of what she chewed-up as a pup.
That renter scam is ubiquitous. CL is just one of many venues used for the scam. Scammers troll the MLS listings and post rental ads before the property makes it to Trulia, Zillow, etc. The one a relative encountered was a $50 application fee for processing the rental application for a property that was for sale. We’d avoided.
When I moved back to TX I had to sell my truck, as it did not have AC.
I posted it on CL, with a photo. It sold in 15 minutes. Ended up selling it to normal Aggies who had transferred out to SF.
What the ad really did was force all the pushy Mexicans out of the woodwork. Many showed up and insisted I should sell them the truck for less than my asking price “just because”. One fat mexi-criminal brought her brother who insisted I sell her the truck at a discount because she was a single mother, as if her poor life choices were my problem. He almost tried to get physical when I told him to go away.
They really thought that the white guilt thing would work. It didn’t.
