I was there that year. Grew up in Columbus OH and my parents took us to many races between 1958-1969.

True story ... in August, 1963 or 1964, my family was camped next to Tony Hulman's secretary and her family near Bar Harbor, ME. My dad had lost his car keys while we were at that year's race and he mentioned that fact to the secretary. He described them to her, and lo and behold, sometime in September he got the keys back in the mail!
