ABC as usual is showing the race. First time the race has been sold out in a while. 3 to 400,000 will be there. Weather is said to be fine for the race.
Apparently she has been to the race a number of years now singing a patriotic song at the opening. Here is what I found for this year.
Henderson will skip “God Bless America” as the Indy 500 celebrates its centennial race this weekend. She instead will serve as grand marshal and deliver the “drivers to your cars” command.

There was a female driver this year but that is not how the start call went. It was Lady and Gentlemen start your engines done by a bunch of the Hulman children.

Your welcome. Like I said at the beginning I grew up with this race and it had slipped somewhat in popularity over the years but it is still a special event and the 100th running deserved attention.
