I guess Obama thinks that Zika bearing mosquitoes migrate from Latin America to spread the disease. Fraud not. People with Zika cross the border and the mosquitoes already in America (thanks to no DDT and undisturbed ‘wetland’ breeding grounds) allow the spread without his silliness.
Indeed. We have plenty of mosquitoes that could spread disease, if it weren’t for the massive public health efforts needed to eradicate the diseases. Malaria and yellow-fever used to be endemic in the US and could be again without constant vigilance.
West Nile Virus has already become endemic to the US. Chikungunya and Dengue are poised to become bigger problems. Chagas disease is not caused by mosquitoes, but by another bug, the triatomine, that is native to the US.
Allowing unchecked immigration, legal as well as illegal is posing a huge public health threat.
