Pres. Obama doubled down on his infamous You didnt build that claim when he declared You cant build that and then told college graduates they gained their degrees by being lucky.
In remarks about the economy on Friday, Obama chastised those who think theyre self-sufficient and dont need government:
You cant build your own metro system. You cant build your own highway. You cant build your own airport. And so we have a specific problem with under-investing in infrastructure. Then, on Saturday, Pres. Obama told Howard University graduates that his pet peeve is people like them who dont credit luck for their success:
And that means we have to not only question the world as it is, and stand up for those African Americans who havent been so lucky because, yes, youve worked hard, but youve also been lucky. Thats a pet peeve of mine: People who have been successful and dont realize theyve been lucky. The remarks are redolent of comments Obama made to business owners when he told them that, if they have a successful business, You didnt build that.

No, Mr. President, you were lucky.
Real damned lucky.
Evidently we can’t control out own bathrooms either.
What an ignorant putz.
Spoken by a person who has never worked for anything in their entire life
His grammar was also AWFUL (talking to college graduates, yet!).
Everyone of those of blacks should feel lucky they were born in the USA instead of somewhere in Africa. In Africa, they wouldn’t have a pot to pizz in. Here, they have whitey to blame for all their failures.
WHAT A PUTZ!!!
No just black.
I work in land development. I’m always amazed that every big project has one person who is a ‘driving force’, from idea on a napkin, through funding, and on to completion. Truly visionary people who ‘get things done’.
Mr. Obozo may be surprised to learn that much of our infrastructure is built by private developers - Roads, water lines, gas lines, power lines, etc.
Actually railroads were built largely by a few determined wealthy families.
No one today would, build their own metro because fixed track systems are extremely inflexible and maintenance intensive. Govt today would prevent people building theirown metro anyway, so its a moot point.
Todays “metro” for people are cars and motorbikes, and people build cars and bikes regularly.
People, build private roads. Govt, would, prevent people building their own public roads, so its a moot point.
People have built their own private airfields. They are not sized for jumbo jets, but people have and do build their own airfields. If a person would go ahead and attempt to build a large public commercial airport on their property as Obama is referring to, govt would step in and prevent tis from appening. So again, a moot point.
We God Damn DID build our own highways, metros and airports you communist idiot!
Your precious government serves at OUR pleasure and we told it to build the highways with OUR money.
If Americans don’t understand this we are lost.
IF he thinks “we” can’t build an airport, how the bell does he think we built Apple, General Motors, General Foods, And every other massive government on earth. Who does he think uses “his” airports?
Don’t forget articulate, bright and clean and nice looking.
I meant massive company, but same difference, we built the government as well.
Obama never built a thing in his life. Don’t speak for me government lackey.
Of course, the wealthy financiers of railroads were “lucky”, from Obama’s estimation. As were the financiers and builders of canals before railroad technology.
The original “metro” subterranean railroads were built by private companies too. But in the case of NYC particularly, the city insisted on putting out the funds, ostensibly claiming that the costs of such construction would have been too high for any private company, but more for the purpose of control; hence the subsequent fare controls imposed on the private companies who did the building, operation and maintenance. The city also never followed through on the promise of allowing the use of subway tracks at night for freight haulage.
Obama was lucky, not everyone can have their first job be president.
He’s talking about white privilege
Obama, you foolish dipshit.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
Further, you and your ilk are always yapping on about
“hard working Americans “. What about “smart working
Americans”?
How about you work your ass off and create your own luck?
