You mentioned 1968 elections. Did anything really change among the parties though in 1972? Just curious.

I think the Dems changed their primary process in ‘72. Of course Nixon was running in ‘72, so his nomination was through acclamation.

And in ‘76 we saw how messed up stuff got between Reagan and Ford.

I am pretty sure that there haven’t been significant changes in either party since then.

I am guessing we will see protesters at the Republican Convention, with participants walking out over this or that.

However, I think there will be more upsetting events in Philly at the Dem Convention. The Dems seem to get more “out of control” in their protests. Also, being in Philly, I am sure the cops there are going to be, well, Philly cops.

Cleveland does not seem as troubled as Philly might be.

I just have a feeling its going to be a long, hot summer. All we need is a single cop, shooting a single black kid right before either of the conventions.
