I go to the beach several times a year
The Gulf
Close to country’s largest tropical African black population concentrations in Louisiana Mississippi and Alabama and Georgia and north Florida yet blacks on the beach are one in a thousand at most
Plenty of them on the pier fishing!
They may like water parks more than natural parks.
What’s your favorite place down that a ways? I love Fort Morgan.
Sometimes we take the ferry over to Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island and go to the secret Indian pottery shard mound.
If we have time, we go into Mobile and eat at that little place on George Street.
When I was in the army, one of the black soldiers complained about getting put on a mowing detail...the reason was being in the sun made him darker. Apparently this is a big deal, and one of the reasons blacks avoid pools and beaches.
Had an black army buddy from GA who would swing by and visit me in Chicago when he would visit his daughter.
One year he was going to be in town during my time I spend at a WI Northwoods cabin and I asked him to come along, he did.
He was very very nervous being out in the woods. This was a guy I spent 2 years with in Nam. He just did not like being in the woods with white people.
I understand that. I understand his background. The first time he was around a bunch of white people at once was in Vietnam. But it was still strange to witness how nervous he became.
But... that being said, I’m sure more white folks would be nervous on the west side or south side of Chicago than any black folk would be camping.
Blacks don’t swim either.
So now visiting parks and camping is racist.
I suppose eating vanilla ice cream will be viewed as racist also.
