That given, your claims are misleading, because they fail to recognize that there are voters who are not members of either party. You know, those "independents" that the GOPe consultants like Rove are always telling us they have to get, which is why they have to run guys like Romney and McCain. Well, those independents, in states where they get to vote, are voting overwhelmingly for Trump. There is no way to know for sure whether Trump can win NY or the other northeastern states, but what we do know, already, is that he puts them in play, and forces the Democrats to not take them for granted.
We also know he'll get Florida and sweep the south. Texas won't go Democrat. Utah won't go Democrat. Nebraska won't go Democrat. Not after they see Hillary, or whatever socialist the Dems put up, do their schtick.
Your entire premise is flawed, and designed to simply parrot a Cruz talking point in service of the election of Hillary.
It would take a heck of a lot of independents to make up Trump’s huge deficits against the HIllary+Bernie crowd. And the traditional definition of “Independents” and “moderates” amongst long term Republicans is Democrats unwilling to admit they’re Democrats. A dozen election cycles worth of experience makes me very skeptical anyone can close that gap unless they want to run to the left of Hillary and get Bernie’s crowd. Anyone who wants to go there I don’t want and shouldn’t be eligible for the office - they can’t possibly swear an honest oath to uphold the Constitution. The only thing that crowd deserves is the swim or sink method of learning personal responsibility. I anticipate many Darwin Award winners.
